Most of these tasks are simple when taken by themselves, but when you combine them all together in the space of a single day, things can get a little chaotic.
Changing a diaper: simple (some diapers are more complicated than others, I'll grant you that).
Catching a tossed object: usually pretty simple

"Autumn Memory" is 10"x8"x1.5" acrylic on canvas.
This is a detail shot of a small portion of that painting.
Also, I've been asked to design someone's wedding invitations! These will actually be done in watercolor, so that will be different for me. I like the watercolors, however. I may need to do some more designs in watercolor Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-66358170945006801402012-03-03T22:32:00.000-08:002012-03-03T22:32:21.492-08:00I Now Have a WebsiteYes, finally! There is a possibility of renaming it, depending on a couple things, but I'm pleased with its progress so far. I seem to be getting the hang of acrylics a little better. Also in the planning is smaller paintings (and therefore some paintings for lower prices!) in addition to my usual medium-sized paintings.
As a side note, I'm getting a Canon Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-91246041209052471272012-02-03T12:04:00.000-08:002012-02-04T18:12:43.250-08:00"Pink Daisy 1" almost finished"Pink Daisy 1" is nearly done. January's members' show was an exciting first public appearance, and I anticipate good things for February's show this Sunday. This month, I will be showing "Red Rose 2" (which would make a fabulous Valentines Day gift for that very special someone).
Also in the works is my upcoming website, where I will be making some Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-35272298514808412152012-01-09T17:51:00.000-08:002012-01-09T17:51:51.039-08:00New Painting Upcoming! "Pink Daisy 1"I've been a little busy on Pink Daisy 1. Here's a preview:

I'm thrilled to be entering my first show this month at the Ocean County Artists Guild! The show/opening is Sunday, Jan 8., from 1pm to 4 pm. I will be showing Red Rose 1.
I've been reading and learning quite a bit lately, and hope to benefit from what I've learned.
I've also been reminded of how shy and awkward I can be sometimes when conversing Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-65196123030026486062011-12-21T13:51:00.000-08:002011-12-21T13:51:11.404-08:00Another rose on the way! Here's the middle of it:

I would say it is, certainly. Like paying to hear a great concert piece played live has a certain appeal over listening to the recording, so does paying for original artwork. You can't resell your concert experience for profit like you can with art, though. Just a little detail there.
I've seen some fascinating pictures of art Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-42033489417764512852011-12-17T08:50:00.000-08:002011-12-17T08:50:29.504-08:00A couple more minor details to add, but it's finally pretty much finished. Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-60015432854354494902011-12-12T21:10:00.000-08:002011-12-12T21:10:36.091-08:00
Finally making some good progress on the bottom leaf. I'm feeling much better now.
When this is done, I will likely be doing another rose.
I would write more, but I'm pretty tired. Good night. :)Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-53908893840450602482011-12-09T12:06:00.001-08:002011-12-09T12:49:42.244-08:00"Are you just in it for the money?""Are you just in it for the money?"
Say What??
I've gotten this question a couple of times recently (and several times in the past) in reference to my artwork, so it's my guess that I'll continue to be asked this periodically. I should probably address it.
This question is a little odd for several reasons, but I'll only address the reasons that really stick out to me as particularly Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-27862535957222014772011-12-06T18:07:00.000-08:002011-12-06T18:07:16.875-08:00Here's what I'm working on right now. It's starting to come together after staying up late last night working on it. That's a relief, since it was looking a bit sad yesterday afternoon.
I still need to get together with a friend of mine to see if her camera is capable of photographs that are adequate for reproductions. Once that's able to happen, Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-8803687920503329342011-11-28T18:16:00.000-08:002011-11-28T18:16:14.136-08:00I'm working again on "Fall Leaves 2" now. Here's the start of one of the leaves. Yes it looks rough, but you should have seen how "Red Rose 1" looked in the beginning stages!

That place sure can inspire an aspiring artist. The movies don't exaggerate; the water is amazing. Its clarity was such a refreshing change from the brackish New Jersey surf.
San Juan has pelicans like we have seagulls. I think I actually prefer the seagulls. I find them cuter and less intimidating.

This week, the guild is hosting a few things that caught my eye. Theresa Heidel's work is there, and it is lovely. It looks like she does mostly watercolor, and she does it very well. I'd like to meet her sometime, and perhaps buy one of her originals. It would be neat to get this one later, if I Teresa Dyehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10064799009374779602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2214887412984309794.post-30394093838021596472011-11-14T16:52:00.000-08:002011-11-14T16:52:58.611-08:00Got the background pretty much finished for the next one. This one did take me awhile, simply because of the limited time I had per day for working on it and because of the 1 or 2 week break I took before I finished.

Here's a close-up:
There are a few details that may still need some attention, but it's done overall.
It's interesting trying to fit the time for painting into my schedule. I'm excited to be starting my first art blog! Please bear with any changes, since I'm still figuring this out. For starters, here is an oil pastel painting I'm working on right now:
